Everybody talks about living a healthy life. But they barely talk about what that life must contain. What are those essential habits to follow that can contribute to maintaining a happy life?

Below is a tiny list of some of the things that can be a part of your wellness journal. An important checklist that will make you happier and help you live a fulfilling life.

Deep breathing.

This is the most common thing that you do every day. But the moment you are asked to deep breathe, hold, and expel consciously. It creates a different effect on your brain. You become comparatively calmer, balanced, and more conscious.

The best part is you can do it anywhere. It is the thing you are doing while you are reading this. You need to do it consciously. See how the air cools your nostrils, goes down in your chest, and fills your lungs. After a while, you just let it go, either through the nose or mouth.

Deep breathing must have a place in your life. You can notice changes once you practice it regularly. Check it before you go to bed.

Hydration

Another important thing that significantly affects your life is your water intake. You need to drink water immediately after you wake up as your body gets dehydrated when you sleep.

Unfortunately, due to the busy schedule and rushed lifestyle, you are not consuming enough water as you should. So, you need this in your wellness journal. To confirm if you have been hydrating yourself enough or not.

You will see a dramatic change in your body and its energy once you start keeping yourself hydrated.

Digital Detox.

Contrary to the first two, digital detox could be the hard one to do. But if you keep reminding yourself that you need to minimize your screen time. I am sure you will find a system to make it happen.

All you need to do is to find something that will replace your screen time. Something, that is not only interesting for you but also makes you feel productive and fulfilled.

You can write your screen time in your wellness journal. And keep a record to minimize it every day. You will not only end up with minimum screen time but maximum happy hours.

Current mood.

How do you feel right now? Are you relaxed? Is your body tensed? Are your muscles and shoulders relaxed? Do you feel irritated? Are you angry or annoyed at something?

These realizations can only occur when you are mindful enough about your existence. One moment of mindful awareness can start healing you in multiple ways than you can imagine.

Therefore, try to write about how you are feeling right now or how you felt throughout the day. You don’t have to write an essay but 100 words will make you calmer than before.

Mindfulness.

As you will do the above-mentioned exercise. You will not only be more aware of yourself. But you will also be spending at least a few moments with mindfulness.

You will think about yourself. How are you feeling? How did something make you feel? This way you will become enlightened by your energy and the kind of energy that you have been keeping in your body.

The best part of keeping it in your wellness journal is you can check out the mindfulness box as you write down about your day.

Nature time.

You are being reminded again and again to touch the grass. But you barely get any time to do the same. Working a full-time job can make it hard for you to keep up with nature. But when was the last time you saw an open sky?

You can keep it a weekend practice. But make sure that you spend some time in the nature. Being living in a technologically driven world. You have no option but to stick to the screens. Either for work or for recreation. That changes your brain to a certain extent.

But spending little time in nature can reset it and make you feel more fresh and energized. You can make the time of your choosing. But make sure to make a space for nature in your wellness checklist.

Playtime/ creative time.

When you are on a mission to minimize screen time, you need something to fill that time. You can do a plethora of activities to do just the same. But finding those things strategically can save a lot of time.

You need to know if you love indulging in outdoor or indoor activities. Once you have that answer you can choose how would you like to spend your time. You can go for hiking or for a run in the countryside. You can join a club to play tennis or squash.

On the other hand, you are already indulging in journaling. You can further expand it to other hobbies like adult coloring, candle making, exploring different cuisines, or other indoor hobbies.

Nutrition/ supplements

It is hard to take care of yourself when you have so much going on. Every morning, you have to be somewhere, you have goals to achieve, and you need to take the next steps toward success.

No wonder, you can miss taking care of your body. You can miss taking care of your health and pay attention to what your body requires. You may get yourself tested and know what supplements you need. But you still have to take them regularly.

Therefore, you need to check if you have taken your daily supplements and required nutrition in your wellness journal. You will never forget about them afterward.

Skincare/body care

As much as you need inward nutrition, your body also needs some care. Most importantly, the largest organ in your body needs some attention from you. Therefore, you need to take some time out to do some skincare/ body care.

Skincare is not a luxury. It is about self-care. It is about showing some love towards yourself. And above all, take some time out for yourself. Most people miss out on that.

But when it comes to long-term goals. You will thank yourself for making some space for skincare and body care in your journal. Don’t forget to regularly follow it.

Friends/ family time.

When you are on a high in life, you usually forget to spend some time with friends or family members. However, it makes you lonely and makes your life feel distasteful.

Your wellness journal should also contain some time scheduled with your friends or family. You make a call, FaceTime them, arrange a meeting or visit them on the weekends. But make sure you do not lose touch with your community.

Conclusion.

Of course, these are some examples that you can include in your daily wellness checklist. You can add or remove the things you desire. There is no definite content list to check. Just make sure it includes all of the things that can contribute to your everyday wellness and sustainable life.
